The Business Requirements

Knight Frank was operating from two offices in Singapore. Their need for more space as a result of business expansion and their desire to foster better communication amongst employees led to their decision to relocate both offices to a new one at the Ocean Financial Centre in Singapore. They needed an experienced and reliable ICT service provider to:

  • Design, build and configure the ICT network infrastructure for their new office; taking into consideration the existing equipment that they already owned
  • Relocate existing data centres  to their new office
     

Mr Vincent Lim, Assistant IT Manager from Knight Frank Singapore who has more than 10 years of ICT experience under his belt was tasked to oversee the project.

 
 
 

The Process

After a rigorous evaluation process, Adventus Singapore was selected to manage the project and deliver the desired results.

With immense experience in ICT relocation services and setting up of new offices, the team from Adventus Singapore started the project by analysing the current network and working closely with the Knight Frank team to understand their usage and performance requirements. This is followed by a detailed network design, equipment list, WIFI heat map, purchasing requirements and implementation plan.

 

The Solutions

The priority of the team was to deliver a set of cost effective solutions that will meet the requirements of Knight Frank well into the future.

  • Hundreds of network points were laid for their workstations, servers, printers and wireless network infrastructure.
  • A robust wireless network infrastructure that includes wireless access points throughout the entire office.
  • Upgraded a fleet of switches to refresh the current older generation network switches
  • Specialized ICT relocation services and equipment to physically relocate the systems and equipment from their current data centres to the new one
  • Specialized ICT services to connect and configure their new ICT network
